I actually do not like to read entire books; I only read what I "have to read" and I get by fine (I earned all A's in college, so I do well with my style of reading). I finished it and wanted more. I didn't have to wait to be absorbed into Brian's book - it just sucked my attention in right from the start and didn't let go. I met Brian Welch at a live event where he gave his testimony. Being a musician myself probably made the book that much more fascinating for me. I read it before work on the train Monday morning, during lunch break, after work, and in the evening again. Thank you Brian for putting this book out there.
However, I took "Save Me From Myself" home Sunday night and I finished it Tuesday night. There was just something so raw and sincere and yet innocent about Brian's story that I honestly did not find in Fieldy's book but maybe if I had been more patient I would have been more intrigued with Fieldy's. I thought I'd get the same enjoyment out of a book written by Brian's ex-bandmate "Fieldy" who also wrote a book, but I only got through the first few pages and put it down. No joke. It left me wanting a sequel, and I truly hope that Brian writes a second.
I just bought the book to show support; I did not plan to read it, but. so I read it again right after I finished it. I could not put it down. The past few years I've only read two books from cover to cover, and they took me at least a few weeks to sit down and pay attention enough to finish them both. The book absorbed my total attention.
I started reading and could not put the book down. IT will inspire you to walk closer to God. First of all I saw Brian at Phoenix first assembly of God July 16 2007. I could not have been happier. I highly recommend reading this book. As soon as I bought the book it compelled me to read it, it almost begged me to read it. So I did.
I enjoyed every moment of reading Brian's book. There is not a dull moment in the whole book.
I am not a reader like most people but I thought this time one page at a time and I will eventually finish the book. The book itself is quite a literary roller coaster.
His book had just came out and I had just found out three weeks earlier that he was a christian. It was so compelling that I would read about 20 pages and then have to go do something, but the whole time I was thinking of getting back to the book.
Abe Rosa author of The drummer, Angela's revenge I picked up the book, and being a christian I was not supposed to like the band Korn, saw with excitement that he in fact had gotten saved.
I got home and decided to give this book a try.
It was just like I went to the bookstore and bought it.only I didn't have to pay for the gas : ) The book I ordered arrived within 5 days in perfect shape.
'Head' is a person who was addicted to methamphetamine and had a very destructive lifestyle in spite of (or possibly because of his fame and wealth). In fact, I am not sure if I have ever even heard one of their songs, but I thoroughly enjoyed this life story.
It is one that may be especially powerful for those who are struggling with an addiction and/or happen to be fans of Korn. The appeal of this story will go far beyond just fans of Korn.
This is an inspirational testimony from someone who had a tremendous life changing experience by turning his life over to Jesus Christ. It is the story of Brian 'Head' Welch, one of the founders of and former lead guitarist of the rock band 'Korn'. I am not a fan of Korn.
This is worth reading for anyone who is interested in a story of a life transformed. His experiences are compelling and powerful.
His life transformation is incredible.
Our son, too, has turned his life around--back to his family roots--to give direction of his life to the Lord as his Savior, Jesus Christ. Our son was given the opportunity to read this book while waiting to go to alcohol treatment. It is real, honest, and no-frills. This book was not one I would have chosen, but reading it was very interesting. It touched him deeply. He could relate to many things "Head" told about in his life.
